Why paint
About me
Until recently, I never thought of myself as a creator, an artist. But maturity brings introspection and hindsight. Reflecting on my career, I realize that I've always created. From a very young age, with what I had at hand, to now with paint, passing through the decades, with fibers, textiles, pencils, papers, metals, stones, plants: sewing, crochet, drawing, origami, jewelry, mosaics, and most recently floristry. The common thread: handling organic materials to mix, marry, oppose, tame, sublimate, appreciate, divide and reassemble them into a new, expressive, different, intriguing and inviting whole.

My years of discovery have now led me to painting. Painting abstracts.

I give myself this total freedom. All choices are mine, without restriction or intervention. Subjects, mediums, colors, supports, textures, instincts, brushstrokes, gaps, moments of inspiration, right up to the moment when I decide that the work is finished.

I hope to offer you this ephemeral escape with every glance.
